President's Message

Building independence takes courage, confidence, and opportunities. Together, they lead to the creation of the most important thing of all - a happy and fulfilling life.  I am proud that Alliance is helping Maryland citizens with disabilities to develop and sustain those life-enhancing qualities.

Alliance is a recognized leader in helping people with developmental, mental health, and substance abuse challenges to truly reach their highest potential.  People have choices.  Our goal is to present them with possibilities for rehabilitation and employment opportunities that are their choice and that will allow them to move forward on a path toward independence.  Everyone benefits from our customized approach to treatment and assistance, from the individuals we serve to the families who love them to the communities in which they live.  

Alliance serves individuals of all ages and backgrounds through rehabilitation and treatment in day or residential settings, case management, vocational development, and employment training and placement. Armed with these new skills and support tools, those with disabilities can anticipate success and gain the confidence they need to achieve it.

We work in partnership with a host of governmental and private employers to find meaningful employment for everyone we serve.  Employers recognize the unique quality of our programs and the job readiness of our participants.  On behalf of our knowledgeable and compassionate staff of professionals, I am very proud of the reputation that Alliance has earned across the business and government communities.

Over 20 years of continuous certification by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) certifies the quality of our programs. The recent CARF three-year certification award highlights Alliance's "dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the persons served.  Services, personnel and documentation clearly indicate an established pattern of practice excellence.  Policies and procedures are meaningful, staff is dedicated, and services are valued."

The rehabilitation and employment services we provide deliver a sense of well-being and accomplishment that naturally leads to increased confidence and independence.  That sense of achievement can propel people toward even higher levels of social and economic growth.  Believing that you can overcome obstacles, contribute to the good of the community, and live a happy and productive life, is worth its weight in gold. That is the treasured belief that Alliance seeks for every person we serve, as we create the opportunities and support they need to achieve their full potential. I am proud of our record of service to this community over the years, and am dedicated to our continued improvement in the future.
