Alliance Launches New Program for Ages 13-17
June 1, 2013 – Alliance is now offering LIFT, Launching Individual Futures Together, in Baltimore County. LIFT targets youth ages 13-17 with an emotional disturbance and substance use and combines targeted case management services with a wraparound approach to serve youth and their families. Many children with an emotional disturbance also use substances. As families struggle to manage difficult behaviors without help, conflict in the home arises and kids face school instability and justice involvement. Without appropriate intervention, the child may eventually be removed from the home. LIFT helps prevent such out-of-home placements. LIFT is made possible through a four year, $1 million federal SAMHSA Systems of Care grant awarded to Maryland.
